ANTON STUERZER
GUITARIST | COMPOSER | ARRANGER
JAZZ FROM THE BAND BOX
With their program "Jazz from the band box", Ursula Oswald (vocals) and Anton Stürzer (guitar) cover well-known and lesser-known musical gems from the American Songbook - garnished with little stories about compositions, composers and from their own treasure trove of experience.
SIDEMAN
For many years I have been playing guitar in various formations and supporting bands and musicians on stage and in the studio. Well-known members of the German jazz scene as well as musicians of other styles like to hire me. I like to use different instruments like lap steel, dobro or ukulele to create distinctive sounds. I feel at home in jazz, folk, blues or soul and I'm passionate about powerful solos or flexible accompaniment.

BIO
Nice that you have found me. My name is Anton Stürzer, I'm a guitarist, have been playing on stages and in the studio for many years and work both as a composer and as a producer. I also teach guitar, electric guitar and electric bass at various music schools in the Munich area, but also more exotic instruments such as resonator guitar, lap steel and ukulele. My teaching activities also include directing ensembles.

After several years of classical guitar lessons, my interest in folk and blues was awakened by the music of Siegfried Schwab, Ry Cooder and Lightnin' Hopkins, among others. But jazz and improvised music soon also played a major role (Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, Pat Metheny, Fred Frith).

Musical education:

Graduated from the Munich Guitar Institute MGI
Lessons from Steve McKenna, Geoff Goodman and Kirk Lorange
